WORK IN PROGRESS: #1

In 2024, we began our work devising an original, fully designed and produced, major Silver Noodle Soup theatre work. Our aim was to eventually perform this at a Wellington City theatre, in early 2026.

We interspersed showings to invited audiences over the two years we spent devising, to get feedback and help shape our final work.

This was our first Work in Progress showing of potential themes and materials, and our first time collaborating with designer Meg Rollandi. We explored many abstract concepts, including Line Walks, Suspect Line-Ups using a material which creates a two-way mirror, solo pieces of Shakespeare or poetry in cardboard fridges, highly-narrated scenework, etc. Not all of these concepts made it into the final show, but they were all integral to our creative process.
